Bangkok, Thailand – August 13, 2024 – Siam Mandarina Hotel, under the concept of “Luxury Meets Responsibility,” has taken another significant step towards sustainability. The hotel, led by Mr. Nattawut Arunanondchai, Director of Siam Mandarina Group, and its board of directors, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Keppel Ltd. This partnership aims to redesign, consult, and improve the hotel’s cooling system efficiency.
Ms. Cindy Lim, CEO of Keppel Ltd., Infrastructure division, and her team represented Keppel at the signing ceremony. Keppel, a leading Singaporean company in renewable energy, environmental solutions, and new energy, has been selected by Siam Mandarina to design and upgrade the hotel’s cooling infrastructure. This upgrade is expected to significantly enhance the hotel’s energy efficiency, leading to over 20% electricity savings over the next 20 years. The project is scheduled for completion in 2025.
The upgraded system will be integrated with Keppel’s state-of-the-art Operations Nerve Centre (ONC), an AI-powered operations center that utilizes proprietary AI and machine learning technologies to learn, monitor, control, and optimize the system in real-time.
Mr. Nattawut Arunanondchai emphasized the hotel’s commitment to sustainability, stating, “At Siam Mandarina, we focus on creating a culture of care – caring for our guests, our employees, and most importantly, our environment. Our commitment to being a sustainable and environmentally friendly hospitality brand is evident in this partnership with Keppel. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our journey towards setting a new standard for energy conservation in Thailand’s hospitality industry.”
